Argon (TIG), pulse and linear welding

For thinner material and clean, controlled seams, JASSCO uses argon-shielded welding — including pulse welding up to 3 mm and special-purpose linear welding machines with a 1,000 mm weld length.

Terminology

In India, TIG welding is often called argon welding because argon is the usual shielding gas. The catalogue lists both the pulse machines and the linear welding machines with the use “argon welding”. The exact process for your part — including whether a filler is used — is confirmed against your drawing.

Pulse welding

Two pulse welding machines, rated up to 3 mm. Pulsed current helps control heat input on thin sheet, which reduces distortion and burn-through.

SPM linear welding

Three special-purpose hydraulic linear welding machines with a 1,000 mm weld length. A linear welder clamps the parts and runs a straight seam along a fixed path, giving consistent longitudinal welds — for example on perforated tubes and formed sections.

Other joining methods

The company profile also describes spot and laser welding among its joining capabilities. These are not listed in the equipment register, so please mention them in your enquiry and the team will confirm availability.

Equipment for this process

Suitable applications

  • Longitudinal seams on perforated and expanded tubes
  • Thin-gauge enclosures and housings
  • Stainless steel components (subject to confirmation)

Technical inputs we need from you

  • Drawing with weld locations and lengths
  • Material grade and thickness
  • Appearance requirements for visible welds
  • Applicable standard, if any

Limits and confirmations

  • Pulse welding rated up to 3 mm; linear welding up to 1,000 mm weld length.
  • Spot and laser welding are described in the profile but not in the equipment register — confirm at enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Is argon welding the same as TIG welding?

In Indian workshop usage, “argon welding” usually refers to TIG welding with argon shielding gas. The exact process for your part is confirmed against your drawing.

What is a linear welding machine?

A special-purpose machine that clamps parts and runs a straight weld along a fixed path. JASSCO's three SPM linear welders have a 1,000 mm weld length.
